  1. Parliamentary Program

August 8, 2016 by Mr Richo

All of the Grade 5 students have been given the opportunity to nominate themselves to be one of the two delegates from our school to attend the 2016 Primary Schools’  Parliamentary Convention on Thursday 8th September 2016 at Parliament House, Melbourne.

All students that are interested in this role were asked to discuss this opportunity and their availability with their parents. These students will then nominate themselves and the grade 5 students will hold an election to vote for their preferred delegate. The idea is that these two selected students would meet the teacher in charge at Greensborough Train Station  at about 7.30am travel to the city, participate in the convention at Parliament House from 8.30 – 3pm and then travel back to Greensborough station arriving between 4pm – 4.30pm to be collected by their parents. The teacher in charge will remain with the two students for the whole day.

One of the two students will have the opportunity to make and opening address to the convention by giving a two minute talk at the beginning of the program on the Conventions topic –“All social media should be banned for children under 12”

Nominations forms will be available on Monday and Tuesday next week in the grade 5 area.

All permission notices and information will be provide to the two successful candidates after the voting has occurred and they are selected.

If you have any questions please see your Grade 5 teacher or Mrs Barro.
